Generation

Once you approve the outline, Napkin starts building your presentation. It builds the structure, the story, and the visuals together, based on everything you have told it so far.

Picking a brand style

Before it builds your presentation, Napkin shows you a few style options based on what you are making. This helps your first draft look good from the start, not plain or generic. Choose one style to begin with. If you do not like it later, you can change it, or customize the colors yourself. See Applying Your Brand to learn how to change your style or colors.

Building slide by slide

Napkin builds one slide at a time. It does not build the whole presentation at once. For each slide, it shows you a few layout options to choose from.

  • Move your mouse over an option to preview it. Click it to add it to your slide.

  • Click Pick for me if you do not want to choose. Napkin will pick a layout for you.

  • Click Pick the rest for me to let Napkin finish every other slide on its own.

  • If you want something specific on a slide, tell the agent, for example, "make a staircase analogy here." Napkin will suggest layout options based on what you asked for, and you can choose the one you like.

After each slide is made, Napkin asks you what to do next. You can build the next slide the same way, one at a time. Or you can click Create all remaining slides. This finishes every other slide in your presentation at once, without asking you to choose a layout each time.

What to expect

If you run out of credits while your presentation is being made, nothing is lost. Your presentation is saved exactly where it stopped. You can upgrade your plan or buy more credits, then continue from that same point.

If a slide gets stuck, or does not turn out the way you expected, see Troubleshooting Common Issues. It covers simple fixes for common problems.

Once your presentation is built, you can change anything in it. See Editing Your Presentation to learn how to change the text and layout of your slides. See Applying Your Brand to learn how to change the style or colors of the presentation.
