Login Issues

Check that you are using the same sign-in method as when you created your account. If you signed up with Google, choose Google sign-in. If you use an email and password, use the password-reset option if needed.

Adding a password to a Google account

Signed up with Google and want to sign in with a password too? Open Account Settings. In the Sign-in section, click Add a password. We email you a 6-digit code. Enter it, then choose your password. You can still sign in with Google.

Changing your email address

Open Account Settings. In the Sign-in section, click Change next to your email. We send a 6-digit code to your current address. Then enter your new address and the code we send there. From then on, sign in with the new address.

Your old address gets an email named "Your Napkin email was changed" with a link to undo the change within 30 days.

If you sign in through your company, you cannot change your email here. Contact us instead. You also cannot switch to an address that already has its own Napkin account.

If you cannot create a new account

You may see "We can't create a new account from here today." This happens when many accounts were created from the same browser or network in one day, often on a school, office or public network.

Sign in to your existing account, or try again tomorrow or from another network, such as mobile data.

On a busy network you may instead be asked for One more check. Complete it to continue.

If your email was recently moved to another account

If you see "This email was recently moved to another Napkin account", look in that inbox for our email "Your Napkin email was changed" and use its link to undo the change.

Still cannot sign in?

If you still cannot sign in, email [email protected] with the error message and a screenshot. Leave out passwords, verification codes, and other sensitive information.
